Community Partnerships

Together we can do more

Atascadero Performing Arts Center Committee (APACC)

The Atascadero Performing Arts Center Committee (APACC) is a group of dedicated citizens who support and believe in the importance of the performing arts. Their mission is to provide a permanent, joint-use facility where the youth and adults of our community may express and experience live performances. The Printery building works well to support that goal with our plans of a large indoor stage and theater and outdoor stage.  Our two groups are working togther to bring our visions to life.

Printery Devils

Historically, a printer's devil was an apprentice in a printing establishment who performed a number of tasks, such as mixing ink, arranging type and helping to maintain the printing equipment.

Our Printer's Devils are a group of volunteers made up of former printing/publishing industry owners, executives and college instructors committed to helping the Atascadero Printery Foundation create educational outreach programs for all ages by promoting the history of printing in the Atascadero area.  They can be seen demonstrating the printing process to students at Atascadero’s Tent City and at community events held at the Printery.

They are spearheading the development of the interactive Printing Museum that is planned for a portion of the Printery.

Atascadero Colony Days

Since 1973, the Atascadero Colony Days Committee has celebrated the founding and history of our unique community.  As an historic part of Atascadero, the Printery Foundation has been proud to represent the part the printing industry has played in Atascadero’s founding.

For several years we have added our tent to Colony Days’ Tent City and presented to local 3rd grade students as they visit Tent City as part of a school field trip.

This year, we are hosting the Colony days Drive-Thru Barbecue during Colony Days Week.

Aqua Calienta Chapter of Questers International

We are working with the CA State and the local Aqua Caliente chapters of Questers International on the preservation and restoration of portions of the Printery Building. Questers International is a group dedicated to keeping history alive by supporting preservation, restoration and education. Members from both chapters toured the Printery in August and are developing plans to assist with several key projects including restoration of windows and the main entrance.

Atascadero Community Band

The Atascadero Community Band is an ‘all volunteer’ community band that performs year round in a variety of  indoor and outdoor venues. They perform many benefit concerts throughout the year as well as performing at Tuesday Evening in the Park each summer.  Donations from their 2019 Winter Concert were generously donated to the Atascadero Printery Foundation.  Our groups are currently exploring ways to support each other in our goals toward providing music opportunites for the Atascadero community.
